The State Prize of the Russian Federation Was Awarded to the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Tair Salakhov

On June 12, 2013 at the award ceremony in the Kremlin in honor of the Day of Russia the Russian President Vladimir Putin presented State Prizes of the Russian Federation to distinguished Russian scientists, figures of culture and art. The State Prize for the significant contribution to the promotion of fine arts was awarded to the celebrated artist Tair Salkakhov, People’s Artist of the USSR, Russia and Azerbaijan, Hero of the Socialist Labor, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Tair Salakhov has been elected a member of more than twenty academies and creative entities including the French Academy of Fine Arts (France), San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Spain), European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Austria), Honorary President of the International Association of Plastic Arts for UNESCO (AIAP) and others.

Works by Tair Salakhov are in collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Moscow Museum of Modern Art, State Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow), State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Azerbaijan State Museum of Arts (Baku, Azerbaijan), etc. For his outstanding achievements in art Tair Salakhov has been honored with orders and awards of many countries.
