Crystal Chapel: The 6th International Festival of Spiritual Music

The Culture Ministry of the Russian Federation, Russian Academy of Arts, Tsereteli Art Gallery and Moscow Museum of Modern Art invite you to attend the events of the 6th International Festival of Spiritual Music dedicated to the Days of Slavic Culture and Literature in Moscow.

PROGRAM OF THE CRYSTAL CHAPEL FESTIVAL

May 15, 2015 - Friday
Venue: St. Peter and St. Paul Evangelical-Lutheran Cathedral, 7/10 Starosadsky Pereulok, Moscow

16.00-19.00 – competition in choral singing
The winner will receive the Grand Prix established by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli. It includes choral works by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, G. Sviridov, A. Shnitke and other composers, as well as old songs accompanied by organ music.

Venue: Tsereteli Art Gallery, Apple Hall, 19 Prechistenka street, Moscow

19.00 – opening of the 6th International Festival of Spiritual Music “Crystal Chapel”

Welcoming addresses by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli, President of the Slavic Foundation of Russia Galina Bogolyubova, representatives of “Roscooperation”, Russian Ministry of Culture, Embassies of Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Concert program and “Night at the Museum” action:
- P. Chaikovsky “Hymn of Cyril and Methodius” to be performed by the joint choir of the Crystal Chapel Festival

- Concert works to be performed by participants of the Crystal Chapel Festival

- Flash mob “Have you sung war songs at night in the museum?” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory Day.  All those present in Tsereteli Art Gallery will have an opportunity to sing songs about the Great Patriotic War and our Victory together with celebrated choirs

- 22.00 – the baroque consort “Tempo restauro” will present the project “The Triumph of Opera” from the cycle “Baroque. Pictures of the world”. Art Director and conductor – Maria Maximchuk. The performers: Sergey Vlasov (countertenor), Olga Lutsiv-Ternovskaya (soprano), Elena Epikhina (soprano), Natalia Vladimirskaya (mezzosoprano), Thomas Baum (tenor).

- 22.30 – the world musical premiere of Anton Prischep “Eight strings” for the violin and alto to be performed by the Laureates of international competitions  Anastasia Petrunina (violin) and Darya Philippenko (alto)

- Flash mob “Apple of the World” – all those who will come to Tsereteli Art Gallery with their hand made apples (in any technique) are in for a surprise

Venue: the Crystal Chapel located in the inner courtyard of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, 10 Gogolevsky boulevard
