On November 17, 2012 within the International Day of Tolerance Tsereteli Art Gallery hosted an award ceremony for the Grand-Prix of the 3rd International Festival of Spiritual Music “Crystal Chapel”. It was attended by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli, Vice-President of the RAA Andrey Zolotov, President of the Slavic Foundation of Russia and Member of the Public Chamber of the RF Galina Bogolyubova, representatives of religious confessions, diplomatic missions of countries-participants in Days of Slavic Culture, public figures.

On November 6, 2012 in the Central House of Artists (10 Krymsky Val, Moscow) there was an opening of a major exhibition of the Moscow Union of Artists devoted to the 80th anniversary of this creative entity. On show are works of Moscow painters, graphic artists, sculptors, masters of monumental, decorative and applied arts, artists of theater, cinema and TV, art designers.

On the threshold of the 20th anniversary of the European Union in the North-East of France in Scy-Chazelles, Lorraine, Department of Moselle there was an unveiling ceremony for a monument to the founding fathers of the European Union. The author of the monument is Zurab Tsereteli, People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador who presented his sculptural composition as a gift to the French people.

On October 9, 2012 the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and members of the Academy’s Presidium visited I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture to take part in the International Research Conference “Modern Problems of Academic Education of Art Historians” devoted to the 75th anniversary of its Department of Theory and History of Arts. Zurab Tsereteli welcomed the Conference participants and presented the Academy’s Letter of Greetings to the head of the Department.

On October 4, 2012 Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, hosted the 2nd International Humanitarian Forum involving politicians, scientists and figures of culture from 70 countries and seven major international organizations. For a short period of time the Forum had become a competent platform of world scale for the search of responses to global challenges and solutions for problems of humanitarian collaboration.

On October 2, 2012 at the Russian Academy of Arts a professional jury of noted Russian and foreign artists announced winners of the competition held as part of the International Cultural Project “The Image of Russia”. At the award ceremony sixteen young artists were presented with Honorable Mentions of the Russian Academy of Arts and diplomas of Rossotrudnichestvo by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and Konstantin Kosachev.

On September 29, 2012 in Yalta (Ukraine) there was an inauguration of a monument to the celebrated journalist, writer and script writer Yulian Semenov (1931-1993). The monument has been designed by the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Rukavishnikov. The ceremony was attended by the city authorities, Russian and Ukrainian pressmen.

On September 26, 2012 in Ulyanovsk there was an unveiling ceremony for the monument to one of the eminent statesman of Imperial Russia and author of radical agrarian reforms Pyotr Stolypin. The monument created by the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russian Federation, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli has been placed near the building of the State Agricultural Academy in the workers’ town of Oktyabrsky near Ulyanovsk.
